This Web Coverage Service (WCS) is one of the multiple GES DISC data service instances used to provide customized access to GES DISC Archived data products. This particular WCS server is configured for data products used in the Atmospheric Composition Portal (ACP), which is developed by an international team involving the Atmospheric Composition Constellation (ACC) and the Workgroup for Information Systems and Services (WGISS) within the Committee on Earth Observation Satellites (CEOS). The ACP portal focuses on supporting interoperability among the atmospheric composition research
and applications communities. This GES DISC WCS server is part of the data service components for ACP.

The OMI total NO2 column at
0.25x0.25 degree global grids, are the averages of all good quality
observations that fall in a grid.
In averaging the observations in a grid, weightings are assigned that depend
on the cloud coverage and the size of the field of view, more weight is
assigned to the near clear scenes and smaller field of views (near nadir).
Since early 2007, OMI signals for some pixels across the track, started
showing noticeable contamination, likely attributed to a piece of thermal
insulation material started getting in the way of instrument optics. These
scenes have been assigned fill values which appear as streaks in the maps that
parallel the satellite's ground track. For the updates and related data

The OMI Total NO2 column (cloud screened at 30%) at 0.25x0.25
degree global grids, are the averages of all good quality observations that
fall in a grid. Only those observations are averaged that are either cloud

considered, no assumed value of "below cloud NO2 column" (also referred as
"ghost column") is added to the observed NO2 column. In averaging the

For the updates and related data
products and documents, visit the GES DISC OMI data product site

Temporally averaged over the requested time for this product: The OMI Tropospheric NO2 column at
0.25x0.25 degree global grids, are the averages of all good quality
observations that fall in a grid.

The OMI Tropospheric NO2 column (cloud screened at 30%) at
0.25x0.25 degree global grids, are the averages of all good quality
observations that fall in a grid. Only those observations are averaged that
are either cloud free or cloud fraction is less than 30%. When any partial
cloudy scene is considered, no assumed value of "below cloud NO2 column"
(also referred as "ghost column") is added to the Tropospheric NO2 column.
